Car fire / Sheriff’s Office

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 1300-block of Webster Avenue at 6:26 a.m. Sunday morning, 021212, on the report of a car fire. Upon arrival, the car was fully engulfed in flames. Poudre Fire Authority responded and extinguished the fire. The car, A green 2004 Volkswagen Jetta, is owned by a local Fort Collins woman and was parked in front of one of the local businesses in the area. It was totally destroyed by the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation by both Poudre Fire Authority and the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. Shooting/Sheriff’s Office

Contact: Larimer County Sheriff’s Office John Schulz, Public Information Officer Public Information Office – 970-980-2501   Subject:   Shooting Date:   2/13/2012   Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 1300-block of Cherry Avenue in Loveland, in unincorporated Larimer County, at 9:44 p.m. last night after a female called 911 to report a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 51-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The male was immediately transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies where he was later pronounced dead.   Larimer County Sheriff’s Office investigators sealed off the residence and crime scene personnel processed the scene. Metal Thefts/Sheriff’s Office

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to see regular reports of metal theft.  In the last six weeks alone, there have been seven reports of metal theft.  In the last six months of 2011,  a total of 16 metal thefts were reported.  While all types of metals have been stolen, copper seems to be the primary target. Construction companies and construction sites have always been prime targets for metal thieves, but we are now seeing this expanded to include individual electricians, plumbers, farmers and other non-traditional victims. Residents are urged to keep metallic items out of sight, locked up and securely stored when not in use.  Appropriate fencing, locks, chains, alarm systems, etc. should be used when possible.  Report [...]

Walgreens Robbery/Loveland Police

Loveland Police Department responded to Walgreens on a report of a robbery that just occurred at 205 E. Eisenhower, on 02/04/2012. Victim told officers that a lone male entered the store approached the pharmacy counter. He told the pharmacist he had a gun and demanded specific type controlled substances. The suspect then exited the store and was last seen on foot north from Walgreens, from there unknown. Suspect is described as a Hispanic male, early twenties, thin mustache, thin build, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, dark grey pants, and gym shoes. He claimed to have a gun.
