The 8th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been activated to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Fort Collins. At 4:50 a.m., Fort Collins 9-1-1 received a call regarding a suspicious circumstance at the America’s Best Value Inn at 1809 N. College Avenue. The caller said he heard a loud noise and a hole appeared in the ceiling above him. Fort Collins Police officers responded and attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened the door wielding a firearm and an officer fired their weapon, striking the man. The suspect is deceased. The Larimer County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the suspect at a later time. No officers or hotel guests were injured. [...]

At approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, 08/27/16, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area of 400 South Overland Trail on report of a shooting. Two brothers had gotten into an argument, and one had shot the other and then left the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital, and deputies are actively searching for the suspect in the area bordered by Overland Trail, Taft Hill Road, Mulberry Street, and Laporte Avenue. The suspect is described as a 17 year old Hispanic male, approximately 5’07” and 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt stained with blood and white shorts. He is believed to be armed. 7th Car Window Blown out on I-25 N. Colo!

The continued spate of vehicle windshields shattered along Interstate 25 has Northern Colorado drivers keeping leery eyes on the road as law enforcement searches for answers.  (see Coloradoan video stream) Two motorists reported windows that shattered Wednesday as they traveled I-25 or one of its frontage roads in Northern Colorado, raising the number of similar instances on area roads to seven since April 21. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office has classified only one incident, the late-night shooting of a Milliken woman as she drove I-25 near Windsor on April 22, as a shooting. Criminal Mischief/Window shot while Victim was driving/Loveland Police

On 4/22/15 at approximately 23:22 hours, the Loveland Emergency Communications Center received a phone call about a criminal mischief that happened at approximately 21:50 hours. A 21 year-old Greeley man was driving east on E. Eisenhower Blvd approaching N Cleveland Av. When his car went through the intersection he heard a “pop” and his rear window was shattered but still in the window frame. He drove to Greeley before notifying the Loveland Police Department. The man was alone and not injured from this incident. The Loveland Police Department is investigating this incident.
