On August 3, 2016, at approximately 12:00 pm, the Estes Valley Fire Protection District and a Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a smoke report near the Lumpy Ridge Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. They discovered a wildland fire burning an area approximately 50 feet by 50 feet and it was quickly extinguished. The investigation revealed the fire was burning where someone was obviously camping, but camping is prohibited in that area. Witnesses reported seeing two white males in their late teens or early twenties carrying camping equipment and supplies to that area just prior to seeing smoke. Additional information update as of 060916 with pictures. A month after Fort Collins Police Services appealed to the public for leads about a rash of vehicle damage incidents, police have seen 40 more similar reports. The more recent incidents, which occurred between April 28 and May 23, were similar to the 61 reports received between April 12 and April 21. All the reports involved damage to vehicles that police believe was caused by small-caliber BB or pellet guns, rocks, or other materials. The vehicles were damaged during the overnight or early morning hours, and the incidents occurred across the city. Armed Robbery of Pizza Hut | Loveland Police

On May 15, 2016 at approximately 10:35 p.m., Loveland police officers responded to the Pizza Hut at 237 E. 29th St. on the report of a robbery. When the officers arrived, they were told that a man had entered the store shortly before 10:35p.m., presented a handgun, and demanded money. The man immediately left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The man was described as white or Hispanic, approximately 5’10” tall, and 150 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie, black ski mask, and black pants. Neither photos nor video are available.

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hold-up alarm tonight (3/13/16) at 8:20 p.m. at 425 Meadowlark Drive in Berthoud. The alarm was triggered at Hometown Liquor, where an armed robbery was occurring. A single male wielding a handgun demanded money from the staff. The suspect is described as dark skinned and being approximately 5’10” tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and had his face obscured with a cloth. Reported Kidnapping Date: 2/26/16 At 6:34 this morning, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the Budget Host Motel at 2716 SE Frontage Road in Loveland. The caller reported a possible kidnapping of a young woman from the parking lot of the motel. The victim has been identified as 30 year old MIA HAMILTON of Loveland. MIA is 5’ 2” tall and weighs 110 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. A recent photo is attached. The caller reported up to three males in a 1980s – 1990s era Chrysler mini-van pulled MIA into the van and sped away northbound on the east frontage road of I-25 towards Highway 402. FCPS Seeks Information about Stabbing Suspect Fort Collins Police are seeking information about a man accused of stabbing his former girlfriend. On January 18, 2016 at approximately 8:23 a.m., a local hospital contacted police regarding a 43-year-old stabbing victim. The victim said she had been in her home when her former boyfriend, Charles Pierce (DOB 05/22/1973), stabbed her in the abdomen, causing serious injury. The victim, currently in recovery, is expected to survive. Pierce fled the scene of the incident and is currently at large. Police in Loveland have released footage of an attack in July and are asking the public to help identify the man in the video, according to a news release Tuesday. With consent of the victim, Loveland Police investigators released the video with the hope of someone recognizing the man, who allegedly sexually assaulted one woman and may have been following another, through his mannerisms, shirt or any other information in the footage. From Friday, January 29, 2016 through Friday, February 12, 2016, Fort Collins Police Services will have information posted on their website regarding the release of two Sexually Violent Predators (SVP) into the community. The information is being posted pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes 16-13-901 through 16-13-905 to specifically provide notification of the offender and to generally enhance public safety and protection. The information is being posted in lieu of a community meeting. The individuals involved in this notification recently moved to the Fort Collins jurisdiction after being released from the Department of Corrections.
